Anthony Schwartz has plenty of top colleges pursuing him to line up as a wide receiver on the gridiron. The 6-foot, 175-pound Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage standout holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan and many other blue-blood football programs.

However, Schwartz is also a world-class sprinter for his age group. As a junior, Schwartz blazed a 10.15-second 100-meter dash, a mark that is sixth fastest all-time for a high schooler.

The plan for Schwartz has long been to play football as well as run track in college. Schwartz has narrowed his list of schools to a pair of traditional football powers, while a third university has him considering just a track career.

“Right now it’s Florida, Auburn, and also I’m looking at Houston, but that will probably just be track if I decide to take that route,” he admitted.

Houston is in the hunt because of nine-time Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis, who coaches the Cougars sprinters. Lewis recently visited the home of Schwartz.
