7 teams with the most to prove in spring practices

Despite nine wins, it was a rough fall for Cougars fans as they watched the Big 12 opt against expansion and coach Tom Herman leave for Texas. Now Herman’s offensive coordinator Major Applewhite must prove he can build on what Herman started while overcoming the loss of dynamic quarterback Greg Ward Jr., one of the top players in the Group of Five. All eyes this spring will be on former Texas A&M quarterback Kyle Allen, the five-star recruit who sat out last year after leaving the Aggies for the Cougars. Which loss will be more noticeable? Ohio State’s offense hasn’t looked quite the same since Herman left, while Ward will go down as one of the top players in Houston history.

SI had the following a few months ago.

“Only 85 players [on each team]," [former Oklahoma coach] Barry Switzer said. “Don’t give them credibility. I’ve always said if I could get the top 30 players that came out of Houston every year, I’d play for the national championship every year.”

“Hell no,” Switzer said when asked about the idea of empowering Houston.

This should be SPORTS PAGE/HEADLINES. Switzer’s words clearly illustrates what is/has been going on with the small12 and U of H since 1995/6. Instead SI is writing about 7 teams…
What about writing on how these same Schools are afraid of us and keep it in the news until WE get in? Afraid, that is exactly what this is all about. Would that sell copies? I would think so.
