AAC Football Coaching Carousel 2017-2018

It showed everyone that even a Mensa can’t hide the truth.

For comparison
Todd Orlando made 501,000 with incentives. for 2 years
Mark D’onofrio is making 400,000 with incentives. for 3 years

but we are not power 6 or 5? okay

I know it’s not the AAC but Louisiana picks up Napier from ASU (OC under Graham) as their new HC:

http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/21777807/billy-napier-leaves-arizona-state-sun-devils-become-louisiana-head-coach

CEO Edwards will promote from within for OC.

Dennis Dodd is an idiot :expressionless:

How is Frost a B+ while Jimbo Fisher is an A. How is Dana Dimel and UTEP a B and he mentions that Dimel is a former head coach (Wyoming), but doesn’t mention that he also coached Houston
badly.

Good on FAU getting that SEC buyout money lined up

Kiffen and Briles had that O working today. They steamrolled Akron. About 300 yards rushing and 250 passing. That O, done right, is unstoppable.

Yes, once again it’s clear that former UH football player Kendall Briles is one of the finest OC’s in the nation.

Too bad that UH is not in the market for a new OC. Oh wait

Original and final grades:
Sonny Dykes, SMU, Josh Heupel, UCF.
Two of the worst AAC to P5 hires at Arkansas and FSU.
Dana Dimel needs a higher grade

Agree on the grade for Mike Bloomgren. I do think Rice pounding it out w waves of TE/H-Back/FBs types seems like the right idea.
All the TV time in AAC soon should help them recruit better to that offense.

"According to Eli, after the Owls’ upset win over the University of Alabama at Birmingham earlier this year, the team wasn’t as happy as they otherwise might have been — because they knew it would buy Bloomgren one more year.

“The inkling of hope [the UAB game] gave his chances to keep his job, I don’t think that sat well with a lot of people,” Eli said.

According to Cooper, the athletic department has been made aware of the team’s complaints with their coach, but is unwilling to absorb the cost of firing him."

Guys would rather lose if the HC is gone quicker? So much wrong with that.
From @ 3 weeks ago.

“Former Arkansas and SMU coach Chad Morris has joined USF’s staff as an offensive analyst,
Morris, 53, served as Clemson’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for four seasons (2011-2014), partially coinciding with Bulls coach Jeff Scott’s lengthy tenure as Tigers receivers coach.”

"Of those 13 Power 5 coaches from the 2017 cycle, 6 of them were gone by the end of Year 3, "

The AAC to P5 hires have been mostly a disaster.
Rhule did great things.

Herman seemed headed to the madhouse near the end but did have a few good seasons.

A good season or 2 from the rest before the bottom fell out or they stunk it up from day 1.
