That’s it, AAC has more players drafted this year than the Big 12 (15-14)

UH beat all school but OU correct?

It’s important to remember that the Big 12 has two fewer schools than the AAC, though.

Yep, OU had 4, but no other Big 12 team had more than 2.

They’re a P5 conference. They should have a lot more drafted than the American, 2 less teams or not.

Some of the schools the Big 12 was reportedly considering most seriously — Houston, Cincinnati, and UConn — are in the league that’s now produced more 2017 picks. That isn’t a good look for the league’s administration, even if it’s just a PR hit.

Kirshner pointed out a particularly interesting and damning stat, that the AAC had 15 players drafted to the Big 12’s 14. Now by recruiting class rankings the AAC should be well behind the Big 12, but it has to be noted that A) The AAC has 12 teams while the Big 12 has 10 and B) The AAC has a much larger and better recruiting turf to glean from than does the Big 12.

The Big 12 relies VERY heavily on Texas for its supply of players. Of the 39.5 million people who live in Big 12 states, 27.8 million live in Texas (about 70%) and 12.7 million live in either the Dallas-Ft. Worth or Houston metroplexes (30% of the population).

So we get the fourth to sometimes 8th choice and we still have three players drafted?
This has more to do with Coaching and terrible Teams. Just compare how Levine vs judarman did with basically the same players in his first year.
OU recruits in Houston? What’s stopping them for recruiting heavily in Louisiana, California and Florida? The small12 suffers from many ailments one of them is a superiority complex. In their case superiority should be redefined as mediocrity.

“Pass the sauce!”

So much Big 12 apologism

U of H and SDSU are the clear winners of this draft. SDSU gets three players drafted and five signed as UFA. They have a very similar “story” to us. You have players that have not been highly recruited but they get drafted. In this case you have a solid coach in Rocky Long using a pro style system on offense and defense. Here is a quick Rocky Long interview including quick jabs to the PAC12 and mentions about the small12.

U of H can’t compete for the big salad bowl due to our conference affiliation and the monopoly that the P5’s have. SDSU is in a similar situation. espn and Fox “control” the P5’s for now. They basically act as a monopoly protecting each viewing and recruiting areas. That is why we are not in a P5 and neither is SDSU. The fact that the ncaa has let that happen speaks clearly of what they represent. By the way SDSU scheduled ASU and Stanford this coming season.
