It seems to me that Sampson is struggling landing the big fish. Is it because of our older arena? Our conference?

I would rather the sum of the parts be greater than the parts individually, but if you could get better parts, is the sum greater? Yes.

I have confidence in CKS. What he see’s in a recruit the national “experts” may not. And it’s good to have you on-board, Patrick.

Thanks, Jim. Glad to be here.

Peters was dismissed from USF right after the season.

The basketball program has been down for so long that I think it’s going to take a few winning seasons before Coach Sampson can begin landing big fish. Of course, if he had been able to reel in Jarrett Allen, it might have sped up the timeline a bit. Two more good years of progress should start reaping some wins in recruiting.

Big dude, Justin McBride is transferring from UCF. Basically was forced out by Johnny Dawkins as he wants to run a more up-tempo style.

Lance Tejada Jr. of ECU chooses Lehigh to transfer to.

3* on ESPN commits to Tulane:

Lj graduated, now playing for a coach his dad knows. Think phi slama jama.

Randall Broddie of Memphis is transferring to Navarro JC.

Taron Oliver of Tulane has decided to transfer.

Jordan Cornish of UNLV, who was once considering UH, decided to transfer to Tulane today. He’ll sit out a year.

Big Man, Nick Marshall leaves Memphis unexpectedly:

The 6-foot-11, 248-pound forward’s departure leaves Memphis with nine scholarship players and just two taller than 6-foot-7 in sophomore forward Dedric Lawson (6-9, 228), last year’s American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year, and junior forward Jimario Rivers (6-8, 195), a junior-college transfer from Southwest Tennessee Community College.

Memphis picks up 6-11 C Chad Rykhoek from Baylor. Rykhoek has been out of basketball since 2013 due to an injured hip that’s supposed to be healed now. He is a grad transfer and has at least one year of eligibility, but will be applying for an additional year under a medical redshirt. Rykhoek was a 3* coming out of high school.
