Corey Julks has reached base in 21 straight games and Joe Davis in 19 straight.
Houston has hit 55 home runs – the most since 71 in 2006.
Jake Scheiner moved into fourth all-time on the Houston single-season home run list with his 17th home run of the year – a conference-best.
Houston has advanced to the American Championship title game for the fourth straight year.
Cougars have now won six straight games entering the NCAA Championship next week.
Houston has tallied at least 10 hits in five of the last six games and had a 10+ hit game in all four games of the American Championship.
Houston notched its 12th 40-win season in program history and third in last four years.
The Cougars notched its sixth conference tournament title in program history and 15th overall conference title – includes regular-season titles (one this year).

The Houston offense pounded out 14 hits, led by tournament Most Outstanding Player Jake Scheiner’s four-hit day. He belted his 17th home run of the year and also doubled. Freshman Jared Triolo had a three-hit day and scored three runs, while Corey Julks droves in an RBI with two hits.

Lael Lockhart Jr. drove in a pair of RBI on a hit, while Connor Hollis had two hits, a run and RBI.

Joey Pulido | 2.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 K

Houston’s lone senior John King got the start in the championship game for his 11th start of the season. King was lights out once again, tossing 6.2 shutout innings, allowing just seven hits and one walk in the win – as he moved to 7-1 on the season.

Junior Joey Pulido combined with King to throw the shutout, tossing 2.1 innings in relief, allowing just one hit with one strikeout to pick up his second save of the year.

The University of Houston Cougars got a great start by left-hander John King and all the offense they would need from the Tournaments Most Outstanding Player Jake Schiener with his 4-for-5 day, and shut out the East Carolina University Pirates 6-0 at Spectrum Field in Clearwater.

“I’m not really thinking about that stuff too much,” Scheiner said of the honor. “I’m just trying to get on base (every time) and help our team win.”

Scheiner was joined on the all-tournament team by five fellow Cougars: King, Julks, pitcher Trey Cumbie, first baseman Lael Lockhart and outfielder Tyler Bielamowicz.
