But it would be strange if some conferences decide to have a fall season and others decide to have a winter/spring and others have a spring season. That would kill the national championship series and bowl games for sure.
You will never have some do one thing and some do another…Right now, P5 looks like they still intend to play in Fall…That could change quickly…If 1 major conference moves FB to winter/spring, they ALL will…

I assume you mean P5 since we already have conferences doing different things and looking at options to play nonconference with current schedule, to playing only in state schools to reduce travel, to not playing any non-conference. Too much money involved in national championships not to get the P5s aligned.
Of course, they have to all feel comfortable that they have a model that can play this fall in whatever the current environment is at the time.
Why are we worried about screwing up a national championship that doesn’t even exist?
I think with the conference only (if anything) for P5 conferences, you can pretty much kiss the CFP goodbye for this year and probably all bowl games as well. Of course that could change by mid season and things getting back closer to normal.
