That’s really exciting. But never lose perspective. Two years ago UH beat highly ranked Louisville and Florida State with a team composed primarily of 2-star and 3-star athletes. But, true to form, these players came into our development program and literally beat the crap out of a Florida State team loaded with high school 4-star players. It’s the Cougar Way. We will take all the 4-star players we can get but we will never pass up a 2-star Case Keenum or a walk-on Patrick Edwards.

Well the thing is the star system is similar to the P5 system.
Speaking for the majority, many of those players get an extra star because they were recruited by a P5 program, and then many stars are awarded to players out of big time HS districts/ programs. Don’t get me wrong 5 stars are 5 stars, but look at some of our recruits that “he who shall not be named” flipped. They got a bonus star. Did the player make more tackles, catches, yds, eat more hot dogs, win the spelling bee? Nope P5 = bonus star. How do we win? We always win, we are in Houston. We have talent for days…no decades! We have 6A HS’s for crying outloud. Just put the tape on speaks for itself.
