He said the key now is to find a ”legislative path” to be counted among the other big conferences when it comes to autonomy and post-season consideration, especially in football.

”We’ll also need a better TV deal, we know that,” he said. ”But the very first step is to be perceived by you, the media and the fans as a P6 conference. Perception in many cases becomes reality.”

The conference as a whole needs to perform better against P5 opponents, particularly during bowl season. We’ve done our part over the last few years, but the AAC bowl win percentage is abysmal. It would certainly help if we didn’t lose so many coaches before bowl season every year.

Defined idea, good advertising plan, absolutely horrible hashtag,

P5 dictates not the other way around. It is a cartel. The AAC has no chance to become a P conference unless they sue. This is smokes and mirrors. Remember the new year G5 bowl accord. It sealed the faith of the G5. They, the G5 Presidents should have never signed it.
TV contracts are going to be up for grab in a few years. Then you can almost predict a four P’s scenario. We just need to get into one. We gotta keep winning & beat top programs. The AAC is not our future. It is a stepping stone.
