I saw her on August 8, 1970 at the Capital Theater in Port Chester, NY
And 2 days later she was in Port Arthur for her 10-year reunion. The night of the 14th several of us drove across the Louisiana line to celebrate my 20th birthday at the Texas Pelican to hear The Boogie Kings. About 9:30 or so, in came Janis with her entourage. She was acknowledged by the band’s lead singer, and I was hoping she might join them on stage for a song or two. Didn’t happen but still a thrill to see her there
