SCOUTING THE PIRATES
ECU enters Saturday’s contest with a 14-11 record and a 6-6 mark in American Athletic Conference play. The Pirates most recently defeated Memphis 75-62 on Feb. 14 in Greenville, N.C., and have won four of their last five contests.

ECU shoots 37.4 percent from the field and only 24.9 percent from beyond the 3-point line, leading to 65.2 points per game. Conversely, the Pirates allow opponents to score 65.8 points per game while allowing them to shoot 39.7 percent and 30.0 percent from the field and beyond the 3-point line, respectively.

ECU does not have a player that averages double figures in scoring, but the Pirates are led by Ariyana Williams, who averages 9.7 points per game. Thais Oliveira scores 8.8 points per contest, while Alex Frazier adds 6.9.

Salita Greene paces the Pirates on the glass with 6.5 rebounds per contest, while Oliveira sits second on the squad with 5.8 boards per game.

Can they make the tournament by winning out and getting to the conference finals?? Two wins against USF, quality wins over UCF and Cincy. I know that is very unlikely anyway, but just wondering if there is a chance.

We need a couple of wins over teams with a pulse…and no more losses to UConn by 60 or more…

If they win out and they make it to the conference finals, they’d have to be in consideration as I believe their RPI would be high enough. As Butch said, they’d actually have some wins over Quad 1 teams if that happens as well.
