Big 12 making a statement on Baylor tomorrow

The cubbies are doing Shakespeare … Much ado about nada …

Since only one school has ever been expelled from a conference … Temple … I doubt seriously that the Big12 will expel BU. Besides there isn’t anything the conference can do other than a severe tongue lashing … they can’t limit scholarships or bowl games … only maybe withhold $$$ BUT THAT WOULD set a bad precedent that other member schools would disapprove.

Lil wonder the bears are taking their time with this information.

As for expansion via telefono … lol … I believe Audrey Tautau will ask me out for dinner before expansion actually takes place …

What was the deal with Tulane & the SEC?

I heard they left on their own. Which, if true, is dumber than the big east turning down $1B from espn.

Here’s a story from Tulane’s official site explaining their voluntary withdrawal from the SEC in 1966. Short version is that they had cut back on athletic scholarships and were getting killed in football. The SEC wasn’t awash in TV money back then.

Thanks lawdog. Always been a little curious about that, didn’t start following sports at all till the 90’s.
