The University of Houston has hired Illinois-based, Andy Frain Services, to take over security at football games after a 2015 championship brawl.

There’s a name from the past. Having grown up in Chicago, I remember the Andy Frain ushers at all of the Chicago sporting events 40-50 years ago. Granted, it was a long time ago, but I never heard anyone ever complain about them. Friendly and courteous. While I’ve never saw the previous company at work, I’d like to think this is a big upgrade.

While a new company can do different training and management, I imagine they will hire some of the same people. However, I noticed during the delay that they let some guy on the field to retrieve the football that was going around the stadium. That’s a big difference from last year.

The new guys were a lot more light hearted and forgiving. They even joked with us.
