BOOOOOM 2018 SG Nate Hinton from Charlotte, NC (Update: Signed)

didn’t know that Adidas still sponsors FBI :joy:

Recruiting will continue to improve under Sampson and attendance should too…if it doesn’t we will struggle to keep Sampson. Student participation has been horrible, not just this year but the previous two as well. Hopefully, the combination of winning and getting back on campus in a new, shiny facility will bring in bigger crowds…

You are being generous saying that student attendance has been bad for only the last 2 years.

I would say the last 20 years.

I haven’t seen every UH game this year, but from what I’ve seen, Corey Davis is clearly a better player than Galen Robinson. With this kid coming in next year, Galen may find himself a spectator in 2018/2019. He really needs to work on his shot if he wants to keep up.

Yep, Galen has to get in the gym and shoot. He’s a very good defender and ball handler, but no team respects his shot.

My buddy and I were talking about this at the game at H&PE arena. From my perspective, Galen needs to be able to hit the mid-range jumper from around the FT line. I don’t want him throwing up 3s – I want him on the dribble-drive off a high-pick or stop-and-pop if they are dropping off him to protect against the lay ups. While Corey can shoot the ball, I still like the offense better when Galen is the QB but I might be in the minority there.

I love Galen and he’s a solid player when he’s “on.” He has his off games though where he gets tentative and he’s basically useless.

You’re right though, needs to develop that mid-range shot at least.

Galen should be a good shooter already and the fact that he hasn’t improved his shot by this point probably means he never will.

I guess some people forget Galen spent a good amount if time in a boot last year. I don’t think problem is Galen can’t shoot, it is he doesn’t look to shoot. He does need to look for his shot more when defenses drop off him.

I love Galen and think he is a really good point guard (minus the shooting). I agree he doesn’t look to shoot, but that is probably a good thing. What worries me most about him is having him in late in a tight game. His free throw shooting has been shaky at best. But I also agree he is our best option at the point right now…

Young man is big. I wonder if he’ll grow into a forward spot.

Dressed appropriately! :grinning:

He has a chance to be really good. Looking forward to watching him play at the Fertitta Center.

A 6’4" PG who can shoot from outside is going to be really nice!

He has shrunk ? Thought he was 6-6.

Most list him 6-6, though also see 6-4. He looks bigger than 6-4 to me. The team will have more length next year.
