The Cougars’ defensive line is not a one-man show, and how well the others come along will have a direct impact on Oliver’s success. Defensive end Jerard Carter had a productive final month of the season after returning from a broken bone in his right foot that caused him to miss seven games. After sitting out a season, TCU transfer Isaiah Chambers moves into the other end spot vacated with the graduation of Nick Thurman. Chambers was rated the No. 7 defensive end in the nation for the class of 2016. The presence of Carter and Chambers should take some pressure off Oliver, who has regularly encountered double- and triple-team blocks.
