FSU had 13 total possessions today with only about 20 minutes total time of possession. As might be expected, they had some 3 & outs and their longest drive of the day lasted only 2:33 which was at the end of the game. (Sound familiar?)
By contrast, Virginia won today’s game with about 40 minutes total time of possession and with several 5 or 6 minute long drives. If things don’t improve at FSU soon, you have to think that there could be some wholesale coaching staff changes made there at the end of this season.
K Briles is delusional. He has zero awareness that his offense is supposed to complement his defense. Instead he uses his offense schemes and his ego to put his defense in compromised positions…time after time.
He’s an offensive equivalent of a defensive Coordinator that brings pressure every single play…sure you may have more sacks in the box score but how many big plays would you give up, constantly asking your offense to keep pace.
Briles just doesn’t get the fact that there are two sides of the ball
R&S, Briles type offenses, etc while are a blast to watch and ton of fun…have never and will never win Championships…great defense shuts that O off every time when it really matters. The 3 best teams in UH history '76, '79 and '15 all shared one common denominator…and it wasn’t a off-shoot offense
