Catching both players with Dylan Post (2019, New Lenox, Ill.), a University of Houston recruit who shows promising tools both at the plate and behind it. At 6-foot-2, 205-pounds Post has a tall and angular, well-tapered build. A lefthanded hitter, he clearly has a plan when he goes to the plate with a patient approach. Post collected a pair of hits in each of Cangelosi’s Sunday contests, the best of which was a double pulled to the gap in right-center, and all four of his knocks had a different sound off the barrel with a clear knack for making consistent, loud contact.

9.16.18 - Houston recruit, currently ranked No. 29 in Illinois’ 2019 class. 6-foot-2, 205-pound left-handed hitting catcher checks a lot of boxes and continues to raise his profile as one of the more interesting prospects in Illinois’ draft class. Cushioned blocks with quick recovery. Possesses a strong, accurate arm with real finish to the bag, consistent 1.95-2.05 pop times. Has continued to improve his strength and athleticism in time; moves well for a catcher, 4.44 and 4.37 home to first. Offensively, has competitive at-bats and has strength and lift with an all field approach.
