Cameron Tyson transfers to Houston from Idaho, sit one-play 3

If only he could play this year. This would set up perfectly for Hinton and Jarreau to drive and kick out to Armoni and Tyson on the perimeter. We’ll need another sharp shooter to replace Armoni after he graduates. Maybe Caleb Mills will be that guy. I love the spacing this would create. Seems like we’re getting more and more like the Rockets offense each year.

Sounds a lot like Armoni Brooks after his freshman season. Elite shooter.

You better believe CKS will have him working on the rest of his game.

Has to become a better defender. His biggest weakness. If he were as good at defending as Corey Davis he would have been a top 5 transfer on the market. Very poor defender, currently.

Berman says he’s 6’5” (and also confuses him with Cam Newton).

He’ll get a year to get the rest of his game in order. Right now, he’s Gabe Grant. If he isn’t ready, they’ll find another landing spot for him.

Much better shooter, much better ball handler.

Agreed, just trying to use a recent Coog as an example.

Gabe Grant was a bad shooter in Houston.

He shot 39% from 3 as a freshman in JUCO. Shot 34.5 from 3 at UH.

I’m not saying Tyson is Grant, he’s not, it was more that Grant couldn’t see the court because he couldn’t play defense. I doubt Tyson has a similar trajectory unless he comes in and doesn’t put in the work.

His Sophmore year in Juco he shot liked 28.1 % from three.

Yep. It was a stupid comparison, not gonna die on that hill.

Mainly meant that he’ll have to work hard on defense to get playing time.

Seeing that makes me believe it is a LIE…not to mention…puking !!

There is a report that Ledee is close to committing to UH.

He was on a terrible team and somehow came away with 106 of 249 from 3 point range as a true freshman. When a kid shoots 40% of a teams 3 point attempts, they can’t be all wide open looks. He is listed at 6’5 as well. (listed by Berman, Idaho and ESPN has him at 6’3) Sitting out a year means he gets a year and a half to develop his defense. Worse case is him being a great 6th man as a sophomore like Armoni.

he is listed at 6’3…no clue why berman kept saying 6’5
