2022 Case Keenum Thread - Houston Texans back home where he belongs

Colin Cowherd:
Redskins source said they drafted Dwayne Haskins despite Gruden & most of staff not wanting him because Dan Snyder’s son went to high school with him and “fell in love with him”.

???

@17:33

If that is true it says a lot about why their organization is a joke.

Because it is a cartel the NFL provides the owners with security almost to the point where it does not matter how dumb they are. If they lose they get an easier schedule next year, draft positions, etc.

TMI…TMI! Mr. Snyder must have “the talk” with son.

case in point—no pun intended—The Texans

In the last great year of the Oilers franchise, 1993, the team starts out the season 1-4.
Coach Pardee decides to pass the torch from long time signal caller Warren Moon to the young(er) gun Cody Carlson. In game six, at fellow 1-4 New England, Cody has to leave with an injury and Moon returns to lead Houston to a win. Moon not only keeps his job, but leads the Oilers in running the table, finishing 12-4.

Today, Washington is 0-5, travelling to another AFC East woeful opponent. Keenum gets his starting job back, and is being counted on to get that first win. What can follow is a win streak similar to what we saw 26 years ago. The Skins finish 11-5, and get to the postseason led by a once replaced QB. This is sports. You’ve got to believe. Tune in Sunday.

Are you telling us the 1993 Oilers were as bad as the 2019 Redskins? Warren did get traded to the Vikings the following season…I could see that happening but Zimmer would have to lose his job first.

It’s not happening Cousins has too much money left on his deal it will be the end of next season before they can afford to cut him unless they find someone willing to trade for him and I doubt that will happen with that contract the Vikes gave him.

Hey it could happen. That 1 - 4 start from the Oilers to 12 - 4 was awesome! Had we taken care of Business against Buffalo, we would have beaten those Cowboys in a Texas Super bowl…( Probably would have never had the Texans and Tennessee would have never had a NFL team)…it just wasn’t meant to be…but could have been nice!

That could happen, was he the one that wanted to go all in for Cousins?

Well he was certainly no fan of Case.

It’s officially official.
Coach Callahan said it was a no-brainer to go with Case, and had to wait until today to make sure he recovered sufficiently.

Last week’s starter Colt McCoy is healthy but will be inactive, meaning Case at probably 80% beat him out anyway. Haskins will backup Case.

Have a feeling this may be to showcase Case for potential suitors.
