Case is my favorite backup pro QB since the days of Commander Cody Carlson circa 1990-1993

Sam Bradford missing another week of reps indicates that his knee is not responding to rest. Did he get his knee drained yet? That is the question that I would like to see answered.

Was this done already or was done a couple of weeks ago this would be very concerning for him.
Case has now been practicing and getting reps for two weeks. This is a measurable amount of time and good for the entire offense.

Case had a sub par to poor game and so did Stafford. Their stats are nearly identical. Both defenses played solid today.
Good for Stafford: he had three throws that should have been clear interceptions.
Key points:
Four key defense interference were not called against the Lions. These killed two clear TD drives. QB play is all about rhythm. The Vikings had it last week. This was the opposite this week. These had a major impact.
Three huge Vikings turn overs and they lose their star RB. By the way what was that wild cat call especially in a close game? The Vikings still had a chance but
another turn over ended the game. Remember they lose by seven points. As close as at this game was the Vikings lost this game themselves.
Missed opportunities on Case:
He had his TE wide open for a clear seven instead he went short. Unfortunately this was the difference in the game. He also had two missed reads for minimal gains. He did not play bad but not good either.
Both Teams played great defense but the Vikings have every right to be upset. What is instant replay good for if there is a clear pass interference? Yes, it happened multiple times. This has to be reviewed by the NFL rules committee. The Lions did it all game long and why not? The refs let them do it.
Case has to take the next step. I actually think that he is not that far.
I almost forgot. The Vikings also missed a field goal.

I went to a bar and watched the fourth quarter. I also kept up with the 3rd quarter box score.

Case couldn’t get much done offensively because three 2nd half possessions ended with fumbles by the RB and WR.

The last fumble ended the game before Case had a chance to tie it up to go to OT.

Vikes had a 1st and goal to tie the game with 3 min left and chose to run the RB twice. On 3rd down Case got blindsided on a complete missed assignment by the OL.

So in reality he was failed miserably by his unit turning the ball over and saddled with shoddy play calling to allow him to make some plays.

I’d give him a B grade taking all the stuff he wasn’t at fault into account.

My guess is Case will get signed to a multi-year contract and will have another 3-4 years in the NFL as a backup QB. Make all the money you can Case!
