Can’t fault a guy for wanting to coach at his alma mater. I wish him well.

This is a win for us! Lol

Win for the all AAC teams not named Cincinnati. He should have called Todd Orlando for perspective on how hard it is to replicate defensive success.

Anyone have an idea as to who we’d replace him with?

Yup, if a school poaches a graduate of their own institution, mainly an undergrad, I would not bat an eye.

Great guy. Probably close to triples his pay. He’s going places in this game

I wouldn’t mind seeing Bubba McDowell – former Houston Oiler safety get an oppty. He’s been coaching CB position for PV A&M for while. Thk he could be good recruiter in Hou area w his NFL pedigree.

He coached here under Briles for a year.

Huh. Didn’t know that.

Yep, it was Briles’ last year here.

I don’t know how good of a coach McDowell is, but I love him as an Oiler!

I’ve said it before we have to get Fickell poached. He’s the Saban of the AAC in my mind.

I hope Fickel stays. His teams are forcing other AAC teams to get better. Sampson is doing the same thing in basketball.

I’ll say basketball has always been a step above in AAC or even CUSA than football. Memphis, Cincinnati always had legit teams and SMU upped the ante in Texas with Larry Brown hired.
