So far so good.

I’ll wait for the bullet points. I feel like with how he handled the spring game, he isn’t exactly going to be talking about which individuals he expects to start other than mentioning D’Eriq’s progress. Would be surprised if MT doesn’t slip in conversation about the Astros.

This is what I had heard. We had support from 4 Texas schools and WVA if it had come to a vote. WVA supported us because they wanted expansion; figured Cincy would probably come with us and give them a partner.

What I got out of it is that the offense is senior laden and will try to control the game to help the defense.

Things i caught.

There will be expansion and Geography is not important when traveling away.

OU is looking for revenge and he feels more comfortable calling plays than giving it to someone else.

Didnt throw last year DC under the bus but says we lose alot of people that have to be ready now.

Couple of other things already tweeted by JD

Best verbal exchange was at the very end of interview.MT said first year you will have a little Leeway, but 2nd year you don’t win 10 then with Khator you never know! CDH replied have you seen the “ buyout “. MT said then you plan on being here a long time. CDH said a long time!

Kind of scary he says that right after my dire Big12 expansion prediction where I said Cincy and West Virginia would be scooped up by the ACC.

A little confused on the buyout reply. Is there a stipulation where the UH buyout is low if he doesn’t win 10 games? Because I hope it wasn’t his point to say that the buyout is so high, he is sticking around a long time even if he is losing.

You heard his comment right about the buyout being stiff and would be hard to fire him if he wins less than 10 games.

The ability to have a coach that is experienced in running a program is going to be interesting to watch. I really like his approach to managing the roster. I get a sense he will build something similar to Sampson that is sustainable from year to year.

That’s his point–UH isn’t firing him even if year 2 isn’t stellar.

It’s so weird so many liking that comment then. His comment isn’t about loyalty. It’s about being stuck with him for better or worse unless someone is willing to pay him even more.

It’s very interesting that Tech, UT, TCU and Baylor all supposedly supported UH. But it’s also telling that UT let OU set the pace with a load of negatives that were mostly BS. It just seems UT could have put a lid on that had they wanted to do so.

OU’s whining about UH hurting their recruiting was mostly ignorant. During UH’s 20 years in the SWC I don’t think UT, A&M or Arkansas would concede that UH had a serious negative impact on any of their recruiting. Of course, that’s if data really matters. Ain’t no accounting for blind hysteria.

OU was looking at trying to “take over” the conference by adding the 2 Florida schools, BYU, and/or Cincy. Goal was to hopefully take power from UT and remove the UT voting block (hope was that Baylor could be influenced to go against Texas).

However, Texas basically put its foot down and told OU that UH would be added or no deal. It wasn’t due to UT really wanting UH, just that if expansion was going to happen, UT was going to maintain its voting block. OU said UH was a non-starter and therefore expansion ended up being a moot point.

We were just a pawn in the OU-UT chess game at the time.

Best thing i see is “there will be expansion, and geography isnt important when traveling away”…i think we will be in PAC or B1G when smoke clears…seems clear CDH sees us in a far away conference…
SICK of obsessive talk about big 12 …that is NOT where we want to go…that is NOT where we are going…
As to travel issues issues we are going to have, you can bet we WILL deal with it, as best as we are able…Given our G5 pauper status for 24 years, i think we will deal with it with a smile on our face, flush with money from P5 contracts we will be a part of…we are not going to let travel distance in spring sports dictate what conference we join…
