He used his visits on Tech, LSU, and UT.

Quite frankly, Tech underachieved big time this year. Bombed by us. Didn’t beat Okie State, Kansas, or West Virginia. Didn’t make it out of first weekend despite media playing them up.

It’s a loss for Tech for sure but I’m not sure it’s a slam dunk for UT.

They also made the title game last time and an elite 8 before that
it happens. They were still a good team.

I wouldn’t say end their careers
I would say “take a step backwards” (in basketball, of course). The career-ender might be applicable for football, though.
