Cincinnati Game 1 (L 8-6 in 10)

Coogs up 3-0 in the 1st, and still threatening. 2nd and 3rd, only 1 out and it was Davis trying to stretch a single into a double.

3-2 Coogs, B4

We had a chance at a big inning in the first but have gone silent since having runners on second and third with one out…

Thank goodness for Padgett, we almost stranded another on 3rd with no outs.

Davis flies out. 4-2 Coogs, T5.

Yep, nice two out single by Padgett…

Ullom is quickly falling apart. He gave our run back with a 4-pitch walk and then threw behind the next batter. 2 ground outs brings him in.

Next guy singles, then Ullom throws a pickoff throw away.

Then a wild pitch.

4-3 Coogs, 2 outs, runner on 3rd.

Walk. Corners with 2 outs.

Ullom has been lights out for us in recent weeks, but tonight has not been his night so far…

Check-swing single ties it up, 4-4

Starts the next guy off 2-0, and Ullom is done. Pulido coming on in relief.

Ouch…Pulido hasn’t exactly been lights out so far this year. Come on Joey, pick us up…

Pulido walks him. Loaded, 2 outs.

Ground out to short gets us out of it.

4-4, M5.

Well, if you can’t hit, get hit…

LOL, indeed.

Amen, especially with the bases loaded! 5-4 Coogs…

Well, once again a clutch hit could have broken this one open…it is disappointing we leave so many on base…oh well, we have a one run lead going into the sixth…

1 pitch and we’re tied back up.

I’m starting to wonder if we want to win the conference, or just limp into the tournament.

5-5, M6.

We go down 1-2-3.

5-5, T7.

Not very inspiring play offensively by our veterans and best hitters…and at home no less.
