Cincinnati Game 1 (L 8-6 in 10)

Whew, Pulido gets out of a jam.

5-5, B7.

Coldiron, 0-3
make him bunt

It worked!

That’s funny. The announcer just noted how other teams have hit the heck out of pitcher Perez
and we have yet to get a single hit off him.

5-5, T8.

Looks like USF is going to take game 1. That’s probably preferable for us, as I doubt UCF gets swept at home.

Granted, it doesn’t mean much if we can’t win tonight.

Ball right through Davis’ legs and a steal puts the go ahead runner at 2nd with 1 out.

Fletcher coming in.

5-5, B8

Good job by Fletcher there.

1-2-3 for Cincy.

5-5, B9.

8-5 Cincy in the 10th.

Push bunt fielded by Fletcher and Davis just runs into no man’s land leaving the bag empty. That’s another error in my book.

Wow, a very uninspiring performance. Three errors, more men left on base, wild pitches
just a bad night all around
We need a miracle in the bottom of the tenth

HBP Hollis and a single by Wong to lead off the bottom of the 10th, and we have life.

I hope the Coogs are taking notes. Maybe they can hit like UCF, USF, and now Cincy when it counts. They can study it and put it to use next season. They won’t have enough time this season. One and done in the regionals, if they don’t get swept by Cincy first. Just an incredible, inept loss at home with so much riding on this game. Unbelievable.

Cincy wins 8-6.

A bad loss at home
best we can do is win the next two and hope USF does not sweep
I have kept thinking all year long that this bunch would catch fire but it does not look it is going to happen.
Romero getting kicked off certainly had a big impact on the regression of this team, but I am disappointed with the lack of clutch hitting and the development of our young pitchers

Tough loss. Not much to say on it that hasn’t already been pointed out.

Hopefully, Cumbie can pitch well tomorrow and we can grab the Sunday game.

Thinking that this isn’t a horrible outcome. If we finish 2nd or 3rd, we probably get seeded with UCONN, Cincy, Memphis in the conference tourney. Other side projects to be USF, UCF, Tulane and ECU.

2 of 18 with runners in scoring position and 14 runners left on base.
