Cincinnati Game 3 (W 7-6 - Co-Champs!)

King is back.

Lineup.

  1. Wong - C
  2. Padgett - DH
  3. Scheiner - 3B
  4. Julks - LF
  5. Davis - 1B
  6. Hollis - 2B
  7. Coldiron - SS
  8. Triolo - RF
  9. Grimsley - CF

Not a great start. Double with an error and a HBP puts runners on the corners for Cincy with nobody out.

6-4-3 DP. `1-0 Cincy.

Hard hit ball to Davis which he knocks down and flips to King for the 3rd out.

1-0 Cincy, M1.

5-1 Coogs after 1.

Infield single by Padgett followed by 3 walks and a HBP make it 3-1. Then Triolo singles to left to drive in 2 more.

5-2, M4.

King did well to get out of a 2nd and 3rd, 1 out jam.

7-2 Coogs, M6.

ECU beats UConn 3-0. UCF leads USF 3-2 going to the 9th.

UCF wins 3-2 and clinches the #1 seed and share of the AAC regular season title.

Coogs lead 7-2 in the 8th. If we hold, the seedings will be:

  1. UCF
  2. Houston
  3. UConn
  4. USF

If we lose, it was just explained on our broadcast, it will be:

  1. UCF
  2. Houston
  3. USF
  4. UConn

The tiebreaker since we all beat each other is record against 5th place Tulane.

Meltdown in the 8th. 7-6 now, M8.

A lot of infield singles, and then a triple down the line that caromed off something and allowed Cincy to clear the bases.

Word is no action in the bullpen which is baffling. Seems like the spot for Fletcher.

i know its late in the game but is there an audio link? can’t find it in the usual places

Yes, thanks @Kronke

Coogs have them loaded with 1 out. We need a big inning here, because if we’re really going to rely on a freshman in this situation (which is insane, IMO), we need to give him a cushion.

Pop out Slaughter. Up to Scheiner.

Scheiner grounds out.

7-6, M9.

1-3 ground out.
4-3 ground out.

1 more.

6-3 ground out. Coogs win!
