I am sorry that other people from other states donât have the pride that we have about being from Texas, the greatest state of these United States of America. But hey everyone canât be from Texas.

Texans do have many reasons to be prideful. One that I feel stands out is the fact that TEXAS was a NATION prior to joining the Union. None of the other 49 states can make that claim. Also, on at least two occasions that I can personally recall, the balance of the nation went into deep recessions while Texas maintained its economy on a relative level basis. Just two of the many reasons Texas is the greatest state in the Union. I recommend every resident of the State of Texas be required to read âTexasâ. James Michener can tell a tale while teaching one history at the same time. Every student in Texas public schools should be required to read it prior to 8th grade. It would benefit the state and its population greatly. IMHO . . . . .
