JUCO DB Ronald Williams Jr from Hutchinson CC - Has offers from Oregon State, Oklahoma State, Akron, Western Kentucky, New Mexico State, Northwestern, and UMass
In 4 games this year he has 11 tackles and 3 picks. In 10 games last season he had 18 tackles and 1 pick. Didn’t have any offers coming out of high school and is originally from Ferriday, LA.
He’s projected to Bama.
WR Lex Boucvalt from Grapevine - Has an offer from Nicholls State.
JUCO OLB Malik Robinson from Fort Scott CC - We’re his only reported offer so far. He initially signed with North Carolina, but left and enrolled at Fort Scott. Had 17 offers out of high school including 14 P6 offers.
In 3 games this season, he’s made 12 tackles and forced a fumble.
I wonder what holds back some of the non-top tier from committing. Are they waiting to do official visits? One recruit’s mom told a relative that they wanted more info on academics. Programs don’t seem to focus a bunch on academics. It seems like that’s an excuse that they’re not sure what to do.
When a school offers in basketball they need to visit first before they can officially commit. Or so I’ve been told. In football who knows.
One thing I’ve noticed is that UH only has 8 commits. That’s low for Oct.
One thing, we may only have 18 spots this season, if that. The 5 grad transfers from last year that carried over, plus some of the transfers that came in this season have to be applied. JD said 18, I’m thinking it may be closer to 15.
Coaches are focusing on certain guys at this point that haven’t made decisions as of yet. They’re also offering some JUCO guys lately to try and shore up depth at some positions for next year.
Most recruits won’t commit in season and either do it before or after.
So UH 2020 football recruiting class will be between 15-18 players size wise. Hmm…
JUCO OT Jeremy Flax from Independence CC - Has offers from West Virginia, Maryland, Iowa State, USF and 8 others. Originally from Dearborn, MI but had no offers out of high school.
JUCO S Bennett Williams from the College of San Mateo - Has offers from Colorado and Oregon State.
He originally signed with Illinois our of High School (Mountain View, CA). He had 8 other offers but Illinois was his only P6 offer and he was eventually dismissed from Illinois due to off-field conduct after an ESPN Freshman All-American season.
