He’s heading to the 6A State Championships in the 110m Hurdles and the Long Jump after finishing 1st in both events in his region. HIs 110m time ranks 4th in Texas (wind-aided) and would tie for 5th (non-wind-aided). He has the 2nd longest distance in the Long Jump in Texas this year.
That focus is what has also helped Colin secure a scholarship to continue his track career at the University of Houston, and train under track and field legend Carl Lewis.
“They said we’re going to work with you to get to your goal,” said Colin. “I’m not going to coach you just to win in season. I’m going to coach you to get to the Olympics. I’m going to coach you to do what you want to do.”
