Other signature players include Concordia Lutheran senior and Kansas State verbal commit Montavious Murphy, a 6-8 senior who will go up against Edwards at 6 p.m. on Friday; Fort Bend Elkins’ 6-5 senior star and University of Texas commit Donovan Williams, who will face Edwards in an 8 p.m. Saturday nightcap; and Texas Christian’s 6-9 sophomore Jerrell Colbert.

Top teams include 2018 state finalist New Orleans Crescent City, a top private school program in Dallas iSchool Entrepreneurial Academy, 2018 TAPPS state champion Concordia Lutheran, 2018 SPC state finalist Bellaire Episcopal, and 2018 TAPPS state champion The Woodlands Christian.

Eisenhower, VYPE’s No. 4-ranked team in Houston, and Yates, VYPE’s No. 8-ranked team, are also participating. Elkins is VYPE’s No. 2-ranked team in Houston.

I think, Jerrell Colbert would be our Ed Oliver in basketball. His whole family wants him to attend UH and he’s slowing buying into the idea. Probably ends up as a 6-11 mobile center who has some decent handles for a big. That 2021 class could be EPIC if CKS is still around.
