Coogs are tabbed at #15, Oklahoma is #2, Louisville is #20

To be honest, this list reads like more of an overall ranking. A team like Tulsa probably be ranked in the “Next Up” portion, although, they do put Texas Tech at #8.

15. Houston. The Cougars had a well-balanced attack last year, with QB Greg Ward proving to be a perfect match for coach Tom Herman and throwing for 2,828 yards and running for 1,108 yards, while accounting for 38 total TDs. Houston loses several key players, but with Ward and Herman returning, this will be an excellent unit capable of pushing for another New Year’s Six bowl bid. Tailback Kenneth Farrow is gone, but in steps Texas transfer Duke Catalon, who has high expectations. The receiving corps has experience despite losing Demarcus Ayers, and the offensive line is capable of being the best in the AAC. This could be a scary team in Ward’s second season in this system.
