When you think of all the great players who have come to UH from Louisiana, including the great Elvin Hayes, (and never forgetting Bennie Anders) Davis is joining a really great tradition. Besides, LSU has more fans in Houston than in any other place on earth. He will have a ton of Louisiana fans here from day one. In a just world UH would be in the SEC with LSU, but that’s another story.
Agreed; both basketball and football have long had a pipeline into Louisiana and it’s nice to continue to see it be used, especially with other schools invading the Houston area/Texas as a whole.
Poo Welch, Lou Dunbar, Theotis Lee, Lafeyette, and perhaps the highest ranked player in Louisiana at the time, Don Chaney…to name a few more…
You didn’t mention Major Applewhite

Just curious, has Harris from San Jac officially made it into school?
There is a Chris G Harris enrolled in the Sociology program this summer, according to the campus directory, which is probably him as that’s his middle initial.
That’s great! I love to see hard work pay off…
I’ll take two years of an NBA player.
