Cougars Host Special Olympics on Friday

It was a special day inside the Guy V. Lewis Development Facility on Friday morning as the University of Houston Men’s Basketball program hosted about 50 local high school students in a Special Olympics event.
Special-needs students from Yates, Wheatley, Furr, Milby and Chavez high schools arrived on campus Friday to work with Houston Head Coach Kelvin Sampson, his coaches and student-athletes on basketball drills.
This is one of my favorite threads ever. Thank your you for keeping it updated with all the great stuff our Coogs are doing for some folks who really appreciate it. Awesome!
Players from the Houston Oilers, Dallas Cowboys, Texas A&M, and University of Houston came to play against and support the veterans.
Proceeds from the event will benefit various, local veterans organizations and go back to the WWAFT to continue with the games.
