• Defensive end Cameron Malveaux, an undrafted rookie, had only 3 ½ sacks combined in four years at the University of Houston but had a sack in the preseason opener and has generated heat on the quarterback in practice.

The rookie defensive back has yet to practice due to a knee injury sustained during rookie minicamp. When training camp opened, Wilson was placed on the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list, where he remains heading into the second week of the preseason. It’s unclear what exactly the injury is, other than it being knee-related. Regardless, he’s still not practicing and doesn’t appear to have a return date in sight.

Now, it appears Wilson may not be coming off the injury list anytime soon, according to Bengals.com’s Geoff Hobson.

If anyone is going to encourage the Bengals to move on from Jones, Jackson seems like the player to do it. In the Bengals’ Week 1 preseason game against the Buccaneers, he recorded three tackles and a few big defensive plays. It was an encouraging debut for the Bengals’ redshirted youngster.

Ward has 1 catch on the night, but it was a good one:

Great catch but it was in the fourth quarter and was targeted twice with one catch. At this point he is playing catch up. Two more weeks, come on Greg!!!

Bad game all around from the Vikings. This game illustrates how far they have to go to be competitive. Zimmer can’t be happy with the defense…not a good sign.
Case’s play was effective but hardly productive. This is not on Case but on the play calling. It baffles me that you can’t put into action some plays where you take a chance or two. What on earth do you have to lose? QB controversy? There is none at this point. This offense reminds me of last year’s Rams. It is fine to put a catalytic converter on automobiles but on your offense?
The difference? Pete Caroll puts in plays for all of his QB’s. Case proved last year that he can be very effective in deep passes with sub par to mediocre receiver. This also shows the gulf that exists between coordinators.

HOW DID WARD PLAY? Ward had a really nice catch for 29 yards, but more importantly, he actually played in the game. Bryce Treggs is likely Ward’s chief competition for a roster spot, but the speedster sat out Thursday’s game with what the team is calling sore legs. It’s difficult to make the roster as a player on the bubble by sitting out the first two exhibition games, and Ward likely helped his cause on Thursday night while Treggs hampered his.

Anyone know how serious?

I think Case signaling to down the ball on 4th and 1 forcing the coach to call a timeout before the ball was snapped is completely on Case. Also Bradford didn’t have a bad game considering he was going against Seattle’s starting defense. This is his third team. At some point you gotta stop blaming the coaches, the offensive line, etc and just realize that Case is a good QB but maybe just not good enough to be an effective starter.

Oh and before I get jumped on may I say that Keenum has at least been more effective than Heisman winners Chris Weinke, Eric Crouch, Jason White, Matt Leinart, Troy Smith, Tim Tebow, Robert Griffin III (after rookie year) and Johnny Manziel and that is just since 2000.

Here you go Jimmy:

So the Seahawks have a pretty good defense you may say right?
So the Rams had a pretty bad OL right?

You can’t be so sure that the 4-1 call was on him. Were you on the sideline calling the play or in the huddle? You can’t tell me that Case seeing the defense presented to him was a cakewalk. It is the pre-season Jimmy. Case is there to give the best outcome for any given play.
I never said that Case was second coming of Joe Montana. I do believe that he is worthy of being given a much better playbook that he has been given in his N.F.L. career so far.
So he has played for:
Kubiak - Fired
Fisher - Fired
Interesting - bob cuts him then brings him back and almost gets the Texans to the playoffs. bob is very lucky to still have a job. The same can be said of the Texans G.M. It seems that mediocrity is the norm in the N.F.L.
Zimmer is on the hot seat for good reasons…like so many other mediocre N.F.L. Coaches.
The fact is Jimmy is that Case has played for terrible to sub par Teams so far. The N.F.L. is a BUSINESS nothing more nothing less. Case wants to play in the N.F.L. as long as he can or given the chance. I will reserve my judgement on Case until one day he drives a Ferrari instead of a gremlin. You need a ton of luck. There are few QB’s that have had the luck to play for a great organization top to bottom. How many quality QB’s ended up or end up on the Western Management sideline? Warren Moon was given a chance when no N.F.L. teams would. Brady was given a chance when no N.F.L. teams would. The same know it all/experts have had to eat their crow. The same can be said about even seeing Case in an N.F.L. uniform.

I watched the game. The coach said that he called a timeout because they were signaling to down the ball. Someone else calling to down the ball in the huddle? Really? That wouldn’t say much for Case as a QB if others are calling the plays. Get a grip. Case had a terrible game against Seattle. Not only on that play but he had one pass go right through the defensive back’s hands and another he threw right into a defensive lineman’s chest.

Kubiak fired, then does what? lul Guess sometimes coaches need a little luck too?
