Coogs in the Pros 2018

It is a Texas thing and I don’t mean that school in Austin.

AT least one of the radio talk show hosts talks about people who carry extra tools in their pickups and cars just to help folks with car troubles.

That other person could be yourself, your wife or daughter. You never know when some thug might want to take advantage of such a person so anytime a decent person does good it prevents a low-life from doing evil.

With Cameron Wake and Andre Branch back from the knee injuries that sidelined both pass rushers two games, and Charles Harris’ calf injury healing, Malveaux became expendable. It’s possible that Miami will re-sign him to their practice squad.

Malveaux played in four games this season and contributed six tackles (one solo).

Cam Malveaux was signed to Miami’s Practice Squad after being released earlier in the week.

Markeith Ambles did enough.

Enough to convince his Calgary Stampeders coaches that he deserved to be on the roster for Sunday’s Western Final.

Enough to keep 2016 CFL Most Outstanding Rookie DaVaris Daniels out of the lineup.

Ambles had 3 catches for 41 yards as Calgary went on to win 22-14 over Winnipeg.

Ambles and the Stampeders now get to face Leone, Rodgers and the RedBlacks in the Grey Cup next Sunday at 5 pm on ESPN2.

I really thought Richie Leone would be an NFL punter.

(Patrick) #127

He did well for Arizona in preseason last year, but the Cards didn’t keep him.

Punting is such a political game at that level. You need an “in” which isn’t always easy to pick up and most teams hate changing once they find a guy they feel comfortable with.

Same thing for long-snappers. Too many candidates, not enough spots.

Good for Cam

Also, the Stampeders knocked off the Red Blacks in the Grey Cup Sunday 27-16. Ambles didn’t record a stat and I’m not sure he played. Leone had a punt returned for a TD. Congrats to Markeith on the championship and congrats to Na’Ty and Richie for getting that far.

Richie in the final quarter had a great punt that was over 48 yards and went out at the 2 yard line.

Richie Leone is heading back to Ottawa next season
