Egbule becomes the 2nd (probably 3rd) Cougar to be invited to the Combine along with Isaiah Johnson and, I’m assuming because I haven’t seen official word yet, Ed Oliver.

Very good for him. I don’t see him being drafted unless he really wows them at the combine, but this will definitely help him get picked up as an undrafted free agent.
Emeke is supposedly an athletic “freak” according to the coaching staff from 2 years ago. Guess we’ll get to see.

He will represent us well. Hopefully the Applewhite incident didn’t sour his feelings for us.
He’s popped up at a number of other UH sporting events since the season ended.
Nice!! Hopefully we keep seeing tweets where our NFL, CFL, AAF, etc players getting care packages and invites back to campus.
At 6-3, 292 pounds, Oliver lacks ideal size for an interior defensive lineman. However, several NFL teams project him as an outside player or would utilize him primarily as a gap-shooting defensive tackle.
“Ed Oliver, look, he is so dynamic and so explosive, and it’s frustrating to watch him because they play him a lot head up over the center,” NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah said. "You talk to some D-line coaches, when you have an athlete like that, they say, 'Why would you line him up blocked? Let him get in a gap and let him get upfield where he can use that quickness and really be disruptive.
“I think he’ll benefit kind of from a move to that three-technique full-time, park him in there and let him go. Some people, some teams believe they could put him outside and stand him up and see kind of could this be a Melvin Ingram type player for the Chargers on the edge. He’s got some versatility to more around there.”
