I like the matchup with Providence.

Decent schedule.

Last year’s records, conference and RPI. Records are against D-I opponents only.

McNeese (5-21, Southland) - 314
Drexel (8-23, Colonial) - 309
Mercer (13-17, Southern) - 196 / Liberty (18-14, Big South) - 167
Incarnate Word (8-17, Southland) - 299
New Orleans (17-12, Southland) - 162
Arkansas (26-10, SEC) - 28
Fairfield (16-15, MAAC) - 186
Saint Louis (12-21, Atlantic 10) - 247
LSU (10-21, SEC) - 195
Prairie View (11-20, SWAC) - 306
Providence (20-13, Big East) - 62

Not as bad as recent years, but not exactly a Murderer’s Row either.

When does the conference schedule come out?

Last year, it was released on 8 Sept.

Non-conf schedule is out a month earlier than last year.

6 games away from home.
Only 1 SWAC/MEAC team.

This is about as good as it’s gonna get.

We definitely need that Arky win to get some street cred.

Remember that the 3rd game in the Paradise Jam tourney will likely come against Wake Forest or Colorado (barring an inexplicable loss to Drexel in the first round).

Wake Forest (19-14, ACC) - 43
Colorado (19-15, PAC 12) - 101

Not that I’m complaining, but weren’t we supposed to play TSU this year?

That will be football, next year.

We will be playing at TSU though.

Which is where exactly? I wasn’t aware TSU had a football stadium.

The TSU football game should be at TDECU in 2018. TSU doesn’t have a football stadium as they play at BBVA. We should be playing basketball games at TSU, and a couple at the Toyota Center, in 2017-2018.

Sorry, I’m looking at my posts and realizing I wasn’t clear.

Would’ve been great to park at 8th Wonder and walk to BBVA.

Yes, but that field is terrible for football. When the Coogs played there in '13 a couple of times, chunks of the field were coming up on each play and guys were beat up after the game.

Throw in the fact that the stadium has no air flow and it was miserable.

Definitely agree on that…BBVA for football (American at least) is terrible. I was looking forward to checking it out while TDECU was being built but I quickly found it to be a bad substitution. TSU for basketball will be a much better interim solution.

I still remember one of our players puked on the field.

Last I checked, the TSU game isn’t showing on the football non conference schedule. Maybe they are hoping they can schedule someone else.

I’m hoping that if it happens, that they push it to 2019 when the home schedule is a little more palatable and they push to try and add a stronger opponent for next year when they could really use the help for season ticket sales.
