Coach is WAY more optimistic this spring than either of the last two. Thinks today should be a holiday in Houston so we can prepare for the Elite 8 game in a few minutes.
It was a positive interview. Really has big plans for the season. I like it!
I listen to all his press conferences. I like how he tells it like it is. Many folks think he is negative and grumpy at times, I think he is just telling the truth .
Coach Halgo is open and direct . I believe he will succeed here .
Go Coogs !
Watched with interest Dana’s comments about our Linemen.
He said we have 15 OL and 15 DL. None are freshmen.
Good things to say about LB’s. We are 4 deep!
I believe Dana is confident that he has fixed our personnel problems.
He is also fired up about Coog Basketball and admitted that his program has to improve well beyond what he has been delivering. That is clear to him.
In other words certain UH Administrators have made that clear to him.
We have freshmen on the OL but they arent on campus till summer.
Dana pointed at his existing roster and counted 15 at each position.
Obviously he would be unable to count athletes not yet on campus
It did take Sampson 7 years to get to the final four. Just a little perspective but we still want success now. Sounds like our D should be stout, Dana high on the transfers
Well, if you look at roster some are listed as freshmen even though they will be academic sophomores next fall, assuming they have the credits. I don’t know if that is a clerical error or what. Paul is still listed as a red shirt freshman. Maybe everyone has the same standing because of the free covid year. That’s my guess anyway.
Well, unless the structure of FBS football changes radically, Holgorsen could have 70 years and never get a sniff of a national championship.
Yes, I think it’s because of the extra year available. Derek is listed again as a Junior , even though he is on track to graduate this year
Let’s say it another, simpler way.
No 18 year old right out of High School is on Dana’s 15 man list of Linemen.
We had redshirt Freshmen in 2020.
They retain that status but this is their third year in our program.
Dana seems to be pleased with his Spring roster of 30 Linemen.
We have 105 on the team for Spring Football.
The bottom line is that we have solid depth with some maturity on both lines. He sounds very excited about that but let’s choose to split hairs and disregard the important storyline . It’s hard cheese puttin up with carmudgeon Coogs
This is what I have for the roster. Players with no numbers are recruits that aren’t on campus yet.

Excellent! Thanks for this roster list.
Look at how large are the Linemen!
Don’t remember a Houston roster with this much height.
It sounds like Tank is going to start at Right Guard this year. If I’m remembering correctly our starting OLine will be
LT- Paul
LG- still trying to find one and looking at adding a transfer
C- Russey
RG- Tank
RT- Bardwell
I believe this is what Coach Jones said in the press conference
He did say that.
Thanks I couldn’t remember if that was exactly what he said or not. I’ll be honest, the last few years I haven’t been that excited about Cougar football but we go to the games and root them on no matter what. This year I am getting excited. From the way coach talks we have great depth all around this year and in return I think that leads to us winning more games! Like others have said it all starts with beating Tech and then we take it one game at a time! It’s never to early to start predictions so as I always do WE WILL GO UNDEFEATED AND WIN THE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP AND A NY6 Bowl game!!!
Does anyone know how many transfers did we sign in the incoming class? Thanks.
