“This has become something that’s more common,” Houston coach Major Applewhite said Monday on the weekly AAC conference call. “There are incredible players in this conference, as you can see by the number of draft picks we’ve had compared to so-called larger conferences. We’ve got great players and great coaches, and I think people are continuing to find that out week in and week out.”
