Estopare put on a spectacular display, posting her second shutout of the season this past weekend. The junior’s defensive efforts helped the Cougars defeat Southern Miss in a 4-1 decision and tie with in-state foe Lamar 0-0. Estopare shined when it mattered most, getting her hands on free kicks and stalling scoring opportunities against both opponents.

This marks the third weekly honor for Estopare and second this season for the Cougars.

“We had a rough outing on Monday and we talked about it after the game,” said Assistant Coach Blair Quinn. “We recommitted to training and she had a great week of training. She played really good on Friday and really well again on Sunday. It stemmed from refocusing after a rough game. She did a great job this weekend.”

Two other Cougars were named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll after posting strong performances this past weekend. Mia Brascia posted the first goal of her career against Southern Miss and led the Cougars in shots in her first career-start against Lamar. Kelsey Thein had a team-high two assists against Southern Miss, becoming the first Cougar to have a multiple assists outing this season.
