Thanks, but that is the one I have been looking at. Soon it will be blocked by the construction. I was hoping they would move the camera to another location⊠Weâll see. Seems like over the old tunnel would be a good spotâŠbut not sure.
I mentioned it before but IMO we are not solving the main problem.
What makes a stadium loud and inviting? Fans and seats positioning.
What made Hofheinz uninviting? Seats positioning.
The idea to build an arena in the late 60âs with this design was wrong and still is wrong today. Itâs almost like the âSeating bowl designâ vs the âSeating pit designâ The âPit designâ wins the viewing and decibel battles every time especially if the arena is smaller. This is huge for concerts. When you are a fan you want to be on top of the opposing Team/feel as close as you can. This was not the case then and from the plans wonât be tomorrow. I am glad that there is an upper seating area. That will help. Look at TDECU. How are the fans seating? We are all seating on top of the opposition. That is why our stadium is so loud even half empty. Could we have entirely redesigned it form the inside out? The cost surely was the deciding factor. So $128M vs $60M Iâll ask you what is the better value?

The renderings clearly show the sideline seats are closer to the court and they got rid of the big open space between the regular seats and court side. There a little bit of a circular seating design on baseline but they are mostly against the court too.
Hofheinz was always loud and a great home advantage when full. Even with the new arena gutted to the beams I donât expect much of escape of the crowd noise. And I remember reading that they redesigned Fertita center specifically so they they could get seats closer to the court.
Coog fans love to nit pick. We always have to do the most with a smaller budget and we are here. We are not a big 12 team and have all the free cash coming in. Unless all the readers nit picking have couple million laying around to donate this is the best bang for buck we can do. From what I can see the new Fertita center will be just as loud as Hoffeinz and even could be louder with sidelines closer to the court.
You miss my point. This is not about money or nit picking. We are spending $60M on this renovation. The question that I have is if we could have redesign it to be a âPit style arena vs a bowl arenaâ All new stadiums and arenas have that design in mind.
They basically are restructuring the seating on the sidelines to be squared against the court. Besides rearranging the seating bowl the way they are I donât see how they could change the footprint of Fertita Center much more. The arena is sort of blocked in on all sides from expanding outwards. Even if they want to build up that would probably require then to expand out some and not a whole lot of room.
Are we keeping the parquet floor? There is a lot of history.

I have quit checking it - because it kept removing the pictures after just a few seconds; no time to even try to figure out what they were doing!
None of webcam seems to be working.
The cameras are actually workingâŠjust not sure why we donât have real time access to them. If you download the time lapse, the final screen is up to date.
Probably the same person in charge of the final stats on the BB games. The New Orleans and Fairfield stats are presented in an unreadable format script. However, the Arkansas stats are fine.
