He served as chancellor of the University of Houston System and president of the University of Houston from 2003 to 2007.
Since 2007, he has been the president of Auburn University.

He was President when I graduated and I remember the Daily Cougar had a piece each week where they had a “Where’s Gogue?” where they’d subtly embed his picture into a random pic taken on campus. I remember this because there was one taken at a game where I had brought my future wife, and friends…and the put Gouge over me.
I think Arthur Smith hired Maggard.
