Gaby Jimenez to Compete at FINA World Championships

Only weeks away from the start of her senior season on the University of Houston Swimming & Diving team, Jimenez will travel to South Korea for the 18th FINA World Championships. Jimenez will compete in both the 100 Breaststroke and the 200 Breaststroke.

All swimming events will take place at the Nambu University Municipal Aquatics Center. Jimenez will compete in the 100-meter Breaststroke on July 22, followed by the 200-meter Breaststroke on July 25. Start list and results can be found HERE.

Jimenez is coming off of a stellar junior season for the Cougars with a trio of finals appearances at the 2019 American Athletic Conference Championships. The meet was highlighted by a pair of third-place finishes at the meet in the 100-yard Breaststroke and the 400-yard Individual Medley.

Only weeks away from the start of her senior season on the University of Houston Swimming & Diving team, Jimenez traveled to South Korea to compete amongst the best of the best. Jimenez competed in the 100 LCM Breaststroke to open competition, notching a 38th-place finish in the event with a time of 1:11.83. In the 200 LCM Breaststroke, Jimenez finished in 29th-place with a time of 2:37.49, to conclude her run at the World Championships.

On the springboards, Houston alum Bouter competed in the 3-meter springboard. Bouter finished 35th-overall in the 3-meter with a score of 233.15, her best dive coming on her first attempt when she notched 60 points after completing an Inward 2 ½ Somersault Pike.
