Good win for our Cougars…I haven’t seen Harris’ name in the box score…did he make the trip?

I realize WF may be a little down, but ANY win over an ACC opponent away from home is something to be proud of.

Rob Grey was really clutch at the end.

The Drexel loss is hard to comprehend, but we appear to have bounced back a bit.

CKS after the game:

  • Gushes about WF’s shooting.
  • Amazed that we won with WF shooting so well
  • Wes carried us the 1st half, Gray carried us the 2nd half
  • Devin played tough throughout
  • Says that Galen’s contributions will never show in the stats, but he’s important to this team
  • WF just made tough shots in the 1st half
  • Really liked how the team played in the 2nd half offensively and defensively
  • Better than we were Friday
  • Friday was the first time they had played with “season” Gray. Weren’t ready for it
  • Need Brooks to come and play, got to play better
  • Alley needs to find a niche
  • Lot of potential with this team
  • 23 assists on 30 made FG for the Coogs. Really harped on the ball movement. Lot of credit to Gray; makes the right play.
  • Met a lot in the offseason with Gray and talked to him about how he wanted him to play and be more efficient.
  • CKS and Jeremy joked about Rob as he was taking a selfie waiting for the interview

Gray:

  • Gray talks about how CKS is always telling him to be intelligent and be efficient on offense and defense
  • Bugged that he missed 50% shooting by 1 shot
  • Always listening to the coaching
  • Gives credit to Coach Hollis on the last shot where he pulled up and made the shot. Says they practice that all the time in the gym. Had space and shot the jumper and hit it.

Listened to Fri and Sat’s games not today but great win. You take a victory over the ACC any way you can get it. Devin and WVB really seem to be contributing. Obviously some issues with who should start and get minutes at the 1 with Galen and Davis Jr. Hopefully we can figure that out while winning against teams like Drexel but today’s win makes it a worthwhile weekend.

While I did not see the games, looking at the stats for the last 2 games, opponents shot 10 plus more free throws than UH. Their guards had most of the FTs and shot a high percentage. At the same time it appears that our big men are picking up most of the fouls.

Are our opponents guards just beating our guards on the perimeter and getting to the basket and forcing the fouls ??
