On the replay it sure looked like the tag was around the runner’s waist.

What’s it like in the Research Triangle?
Ump was in terrible position for that play and I think that’s what Whiting was most upset about. For some reason he was up the 1st base line on a fly ball to right and therefore behind the catcher. No way he could have seen what happened at the end so I’m assuming he probably called Coldiron out because the throw beat him.
