Game Thread: Houston vs. North Carolina Take 2 (L 19-11)

Play resumes and a ball is thrown. 15-11 UNC

And another walk. 16-11

Foul out, and then another 4 pitch walk. 17-11. Someone else can take over because I’m not wasting anymore time on this.

Now getting squeezed

UNC has had all their pitching and we’ve still put up 11 so far, in addition to the screw call at the plate against them the first game. That plus the stress put on our pitching staff by having to play Purdue again and their “all-american thanks to the B10” has been our downfall.

So sad for Joey pitched last night and earlier today then had to sit out a delay shame on Rooney making him go back in

another regional lost. Will we ever make over the hump. Must win you gotta use your best pitchers to try and stop these innings from getting away regardless if they pitched the first two games.

We had to beat UNC yesterday to win the regional…we weren’t able to over come a couple bad calls. We dominated the the 2 seed Purdue both games we played.

I would have used Cumbie game one and Fletcher game 2 like we did all year

take it you never pitched…you can’t just throw them out there every game

It was like the conference tournament, we just ran out of pitching.

Proud of our guys.

It is not every game. Fletcher pitched Friday and you could have used him for at least one batter. When it comes to win or go home

All in all it wasn’t a bad year. Imo this team over achieved, it wasn’t the most stacked Coog team by any means. The loss of Coach Anderson was huge

So proud of this team, these seniors and those that won’t be back, the coaches, everyone involved with this team this year. They could have easily quit earlier in the season, and they never did. They kept fighting and fighting, won the conference title, tried to come back in the conference tourney after losing the opener, and came within a couple of bad calls last night of being in the driver’s seat against a very good North Carolina team.

Nothing to be upset about as far as this team goes, in my opinion. Wish all the luck to all the seniors and those that won’t be back with us next year.

Go Coogs!

Good year. Another conference title and regional final is nothing to sneeze at. Getting over the hump takes a great team, plus some luck. Maybe next year.

Fletcher went 9 innings and threw 100+ pitches Friday night.

Whitting is a great tactical/game coach but he needs folks that can recruit some talent or he will get us the the hump but we will never get over it and he will end like all the recent UH coaches.
