Game: UNC Pembroke at Hofheinz - Saturday @ 7pm

It’s only an exhibition, but it would be nice to get a crowd there. UNC Pembroke is CKS’s school as he graduated from there in 1978.

I have a feeling that we’re going to see low attendance through the first half of the season. If the team is going gangbusters by the midway point, I think the students and less-involved alums will start showing in droves. The foundations that we’ve see CKS start to lay in the past might be getting ready to pay off big-time. Starting to hear faint rumblings from national sources that the Coogs might make some noise this year.

I’ll be there. Go Coogs! #ForTheCity

.

“I’m really happy that (Vice President of Athletics Hunter Yurachek) allowed us the opportunity to help them out a little bit and bring them out here,” Sampson said at media day. “No matter what I do for them, they have helped me far more.

All considering, I thought the crowd was pretty good. Not quite 1k, but pretty loud. The Cougar Brass was awesome. I’m not bb expert, but UH this year is quick-quick. Damyean (sp) and Rob both in the 20s. Ten or eleven players played. We’ve got great depth this year.

94 to 67 Coogs win

2 different views of the Postgame press conference. The 2nd one, you can hear the questions better and there’s about 2 minutes at the beginning that aren’t in the uhcougars one.

Interesting, CKS let slip that they were supposed to play a scrimmage vs. TCU. He then went out and described what the exhibition rules are and who you can play. Strange…kind of seemed like he may have been upset about something with scheduling and it may have something to do with the Angelo State exhibition. Maybe we were supposed to have a game with TCU in that slot and they backed out?

Did Valentine play ?!

I think the plan is to redshirt big Val. Morris, I think, has a knee bothering him.

Really ?! I know I shouldn’t go back to this, but Jarrett Allen would of fit in nicely with this team. Specially, after hearing that Chicken wants to be the 6th man.

Btw, North Carolina beat the same team by 60.

So maybe Pembrook has improved since then.

One positive note: Pembroke got 30 offensive rebounds against UNC but only 9 against UH.

Last year, our worst category all year long was limiting second chance points. If we can improve there, we have a shot to be good.
