I really did not expect for this campaign to blow up like this, that’s really telling I think of where we’re at as a fan base, really appreciate all you guys donating!

I fell like at some point the university should pick up the momentum and just donate the remainder for the whole stadium to get the shirts, that seems like the only way we would reach the like $127,000 price tag for the whole 40,000

I donated like 45 minutes ago and have been bumped down the page you all should have your 20K by the weekend. Y’all will look awesome and I promise you it will leave a mark on Coach Herman.

Someone needs to alert ESPN (maybe Sam Khan knows the right people to talk to?) and make sure these shirts are plastered everywhere on that broadcast and the story behind it is told during the game. Not only would this have an impact on Herman, but it would have a major impact on recruits.

The guy who started the GoFundMe campaign just posted an update that is pretty interesting. They are now seeking the entire amount needed to make 40,000 shirts and are working on logistics to allow them to sell the shirts on an individual basis.

Amount is currently $16,435 of $126,500.

They just updated the go fund me, apparently they now have the support of the SGA as well as a Houston based printing company offering to print at $2.89 per shirt, they also posted the updated goal to outfit the whole crowd.

very important note
it may be tempting to purchase the shirts elsewhere (one popped up on amazon recently) but to keep the licensing issues to a minimum this go fund me page so far is the only copy of that shirt that has licensing. So the other copies are not actually legally printed. So to keep this process going smoothly we should refrain from purchasing these unlicensed copies.

Also…
After the event they say in the update that the shirts will be available for purchase from the company that printed them, so don’t worry if you can’t make it to the game.

The note about licensing explains why the other campaigns have been halted. That’s a good thing. Don’t want to give the school any reason to quash these efforts.

126!. I am all for going BIG, but I think we will have the same effect with just the student section and/or lower bowl. But shoot we want to be BigTime, so we have to have Big time goals! Go Coogs!

The funding targets now listed on the website are a good idea. Seemed like a huge jump (and potentially lost cause) to go from $20k to over $125k. This is a good idea for some additional goals to meet.

They are at $19,020 right now which should more than take care of the student section. I hope this thing doesn’t lose too much steam between now and 11/17.

I have a feeling we will end up with about $30,000 before the time ends in 10 or 11 days. That will be enough to do the students and 5K early fans. If I am wrong and more is donated that would be fantastic.

Would be cool if some local businesses chipped in, but not sure how the sponsorship would work. Kind of like all these charitable 5k events where corporate sponsor logos are printed on the back?
