The Baltimore Orioles have signed outfielder Michael Bourn, sources tell FanRag Sports. The deal comes with an invite to camp as a non-roster invitee. He will earn a $2 million base salary if in the majors.
Bourn played 24 games for the Orioles last season, hitting .283 with two home runs, eight RBIs and five runs scored in 46 at-bats. He began the season on May 15 with the Arizona Diamondbacks — he had one plate appearance in a 2-1 loss to the San Francisco Giants. He played in 89 games with the D-backs in total, hitting .261 with three home runs and 30 RBIs in 329 at-bats. He also stole 13 bases.
Just ran into my man Michael Bourn at an Academy in the Woodlands in the girls’ toddler section. My dumb ass said are you Michael Young? LOL He caught me by surprise what can I say. I said you played for U of H, right? He said yeah and I was wearing my Coog hat and gave him a Go Coogs and the handsign. He returned it with a yes sir. Pretty cool.
After I got away I laughed and thought he’s probably thinking somebody might remember him from his great work as an Astro or maybe a Brave. But no, he got some love from a Coog.
