Houston-Arizona preview: Cougars hope to dominate battle of Heisman contenders
Future Heisman battle
It’s not common to see two Heisman Trophy contenders in the same game. It’s pretty dang rare to see them face off against each other on every play. But luckily, Ed Oliver and Khalil Tate will line up against against each other on every single Arizona offensive play on Saturday.
Granted, Tate’s Heisman hopes may be crushed after losing to BYU last week. But he will still cause significant issues for the UH line. As a sophomore, he rushed for 1,411 yards and 12 touchdowns on a cool 9.2 yards per carry. Oliver is the best run-stopper in America, but the entire line will have to hold the edge if the Houston defense wants to contain this talent.
